The mamas at Mothersource.org reflect on 5 years together.
At Mothersource.org, we are celebrating our 5th birthday on August 7th! Five years ago, a little dream was born in Kim Campbell’s living room in Southeast Portland. She imagined bringing a small group of mama business owners together to share support and ideas. Over the next couple of years, the circle grew to be the ten women who now collaborate on Mothersource.org.
In the early days, we met over coffee and muffins and shared about the joys and challenges of running our businesses and caring for our families. Through laughter and tears, we found a true sisterhood in our relationships with each other. We asked for resources for our clients and brainstormed ideas for our businesses.
Kimberly Bepler says, “Starting MotherSource was one of the best decisions we could have made, both for our businesses and for the friendships we have made. These women are amazing resources for my clients and students, and are awesome mama inspiration too. Watching their dedication to their clients and their ever growing expertise has been such a cool process, and I am so proud to be a part of it.”
Over time, we began to hear a bigger calling. As we looked around the room and saw all the wisdom, ideas and information in our circle, we wondered how we could share it with our community of mothers in Portland, Oregon.
And from that vision, our Web site was born. Sharing timely information through our blog, personally answering questions sent in by mothers seeking advice, and publishing heartfelt stories from members of our community, Mothersource.org is dedicated to being Portland’s source for expert information for mamas.
Kim Campbell shares, “I find a collective pool of mama minds to be such a wonderful phenomena. Sharing my experiences and learning from others has helped me grow as a mother and entrepreneur. I love knowing we are directly benefiting families in our community.”
We hope you will join us to celebrate our birthday tomorrow at Laurelhurst Park from 11 to 1 PM. Come meet the mothers behind Mothersource.org and let us know how we can better serve this amazing community! Click here for more information about the party.
